Wolfgang Eppenschwandtner is the founder and director of E3P Consulting.
Previously, he worked as Executive Coordinator of the Initiative for Science in Europe (ISE), at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL). ISE is an independent platform of European learned societies and scientific organizations to promote science in Europe.
Before joining ISE, he worked at the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) in the department Structural Programmes as a program manager for brainpower Austria/Human Resources in R&D. Prior to FFG, he held the position of a Policy Officer at Eurodoc, the European federation of young researchers. Eppenschwandtner is also co-founder of the Austrian young researchers’ network, doktorat.at. In the first half of 2007, he was a trainee at the Council of the European Union in Research and Industry Policy.
Eppenschwandtner studied mathematics and computer science. He worked in research projects on category theory and applications of algebra in logic and set theory at Vienna University of Technology in Austria and Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium. He received a Ph.D. in mathematics in 2006.
Eppenschwandtner is Austrian national and fluent in German, English and French.
